Ireland in West Indies Out of T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 stage

Just In! Ireland has joined the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 Stage by defeating West Indies in the 11th T20 match with 9 wickets. This means Two Time T20 World Cup Champions West Indies are out of the tournament. It will be remembered as one of the most memorable upsets in the history of the T20 World Cup. It a Sad for the Windies cricket fans indeed.

West Indies Won the toss and decided to bat first in the 11th T20 match at Hobart. Windies began their jolty innings by losing Layers Lewis and Charles at 71. Brandon King hold his ground and faced the Irish Spin attack by scoring 62 valuable runs for West Indies on 48 balls. In the end, West Indies set up a total of 146 for 5 in 20 overs. Delany remained the top bowler for Ireland picking up 3 wickets for 16 runs in his 4 overs spell.

Ireland started their chase with Irish fans hoping for victory and a confirmed birth in the Super 12 stage. Well, the top Irish Batting Order never disappointed their fans and lived up to their expectations. Paul Stirling remained unbeaten at 66 with Balbirine scoring 37 and Lorcan Tucker 45 not out. In the end, Ireland rushed out to the total with nine wickets in hand and 2.3 overs to spear.

Today is the last day for the 1st Round Stage Sri Lanka and the Netherlands are already in the Super 12 stage from Group A. Now Ireland joins the train too.
