Just In! Indian Star Fast Bowler Mohammad Shami has replaced Bumrah in the 15-member India Team Squad for T20 World Cup 2022. He will be taking charge of the Indian bowling lineup with Singh and Bhuvneshvar Kumar. Jasprit Bumrah hit a Back injury before Asia Cup 2022 and until the deadline of ICC he was not fully recovered. Though Bumrha was on the 18-member team squad for T20 WC 2022 his inclusion was always conditional to his recovery.
Now the news is coming that Jasprit failed to fully recover from his back injury and he will not be available to India for T20 World Cup 2022. BCCI has made a final replacement in the shape of Mohammad Shami who is also a front-line pace bowler for India in the limited-overs format.
Here is the final India Team Squad for the T20 World Cup
Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami.
Whereas Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur have also been put on stand by BCCI as backups.
India is likely to go with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma as the opening batters pair. Whereas Suryakumar Yadav Rishab Pant Virat Kohli Hardik Pandya and Deepak Huda will be taking charge in the middle order. Bhuvenshar Kumar Arshdeep Singh and Mohammad Shami will be in charge of the Bowling lineup in the final XI.
However, India has to choose between R Ashwin or Chahal as specialist lege spinner in the final XI.
Nevertheless, Shami is a good replacement for Bumrah. His inclusion will strengthen the Indian Bowling lineup for the mega tournament. Indian cricket fans are already appreciating this change from BCCI.
