Soumya Sarkar and Shoriful Islam join the Bangladesh Team Squad for T20 World Cup 2022

Just In! Soumya Sarkar and Shoriful Islam have been included in Bangladesh Team Squad for T20 World Cup 2022. These two players will replace Sabbir Rahman and Mohammad Saifuddin in the 15 Member team squad. This replacement came in after the New Zealand Tri-Nation series where Bangladesh performed below the standards. Now the Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided to include Soumya Sarkar and Shoriful Islam in the final 15-member team squad for T20 WC 2022

Shoriful Islam remained a top wicket-taker in UAE and his inclusion will add strength to Bangladesh’s Pace bowling lineup. Whereas Soumya Sarkar is an all-rounder who offers more options with spins and provides strength to the middle-order batting lineup.

Here is the Bangladesh final team squad for T20 World Cup 2022

Shakib Al  Hasan (captain), Nurul Hasan, Afif Hossain, Ebadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Litton Das, Mehidy Hassan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shoriful Islam, Soumya Sarkar, Musaddek Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Yasir Ali Chowdhury.

Whereas Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, and Mohammad Saifuddin are reserved as the stand by players.

Bangladesh bowling Coach Allan Donald said about this replacement

“I think there might be a chance that the squad could be changed and that is probably why they brought two extra guys, we have that time, don’t we? We have a few more days to sort that out before we depart for Australia,” Donald said.

“(Sridharan) Sriram is looking at a lot of combinations where he feels he needs to be accurate, have one more last look and see what he needs to do and find the right people to go and do their job. So it’s never an easy thing.

“Trust me, as a coach sitting up there you are never sure what is the right combination.”

Bangladesh will take part in the Super 12 matches and they are included in Group 2 with Pakistan India and South Africa. They will have to put their best in order to qualify for the knockouts. Therefore they need all the help from their squad that they can get.
