Just In! Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam displayed great sportsmanship today in the warm up match against West Indies. West Indian skipper shimron Hetmyer was given out by the umpire, but Babar Azam and other Pakistani players called him back to the crease to continue his batting.
The 10th warm up match between Pakistan and West Indies took place in UAE. Hassan Ali was bowling the 14th over when Shimron Hetmyer nicked the ball to the wicket keeper. There was huge noise and Hassan Ali appealed for a catch. As a result, Umpire gave Hetmyer out.
However, Shimron Was unhappy with the decision but he was helpless as there are no reviews in ICC T20 World Cup 2021 warm up matches. He was walking back to the pavilion in a hope to be given not out. This is where Babar Azam the Pakistani skipper stepped up and called him back to carry on his batting.
Cricket is a gentleman’s game but we do not see such courageous incidents take place these days in cricket. However, Babar Azam is a true Cricket Gentleman and he proved this right by calling Shimron Hetmyer back on the crease when he was given out by the umpire.
Pakistan vs West Indies 10th warm up match is taking place in UAE right now. Shimron Hetmyer was caught at first, but Babar Called him back on the crease to bat on ignoring the umpire’s decision.
