The 15th successful edition of Asia Cup 2020 is scheduled to be started from 24th September 2020 and ran until 6th October 2020. Total 5 Asian Teams are going to appear in 10 thrilling competitions of this tournament.

Back in 2015 ACC had decided to downsized this cricket tournament and after long discussions with ICC both these Cricket Councils had decided that Asia Cup would be played on rotation basis between ODI and T20 format.

The participating teams of Asia Cup 2020 include Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan whereas all these teams are placed in single group. As per tournament schedule each side will play 4 matches against other emerging teams of this event whereas top two performers of group stage rounds will face each other in the Finals of Asia Cup 2020.
India is the defending champion of Asia Cup 2020 as this team had defeated Bangladesh in the Finals of Asia Cup 2018 and became the Champions of Asia Cup for the 7th time in the history. Indeed India is the most successful side of this event whereas Sri Lanka with 5 victories is the 2nd most successful team of Asia Cup.
The 1st ever edition of Asia Cup was held back in 1984 by Asia Cricket Council and the basic purpose behind the establishment of this tournament is to promote good and healthy relations between Asian Countries through Sports.
The organizers of Asia Cup, ACC has already granted the hosting rights of Asia Cup 2020 to Pakistan however due to increasing political tensions between India and Pakistan, it is still unclear that whether Pakistan is going to host this event or UAE would host Asia Cup 2020.
Recently India Cricket Board has completely refused to play on Pakistani soil due to instable situation between both countries. However ACC is trying hard to agree India to come to Pakistan to appear in group stage games of Asia Cup 2020.
