PSL 2022 is all set to take place in Pakistan from 20th February 2022. As per the announcement of Pakistan Cricket Board, the sixth season of Pakistan Super League will entirely be hosted in Pakistan. A total of six teams are taking part in PSL 7. Whereas, 34 T20 matches are on the schedule in PSL 2022. All these PSL 2022 matches will be live telecast on PTV Sports and Geo Super in Pakistan. 2021 was a strange year for all the humans living on our beautiful blue planet, not only it canceled all the sports events, but also live came to a halt due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Same happened to PSL 2020 as well, when PCB postponed the knockout stage matches from march to November 2020. Later, Karachi Kings emerged the PSL 2020 Champions. Now, 2022 is a new year and Cricket fans are having new hopes from this year. Same goes to the Pakistan Super League fans as well.
After successful hosting of the 6th season Pakistan Super League, Pakistan Cricket Board is well prepared to Organize the next edition of PSL in Pakistan. In this regard, PCB announced the PSL 2022 schedule on 27th January 2022. As per the announcement, PSL 7 will happen from 20th February to 22nd March 2022 in Pakistan. According to the schedule, revealed by HBL PSL management, The inaugural match of HBL PSL 2022 will be held on 20th February 2022 at Karachi in which the defending champions Karachi Kings will face the runner up team of the previous season Quetta Gladiators. The final will take place on 27th February at Lahore.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Crisis, PCB has announced that to avoid unnecessary movement, all the 34 matches will be played at only two venues of Karachi and Lahore. This secure measure is only taken to ensure the health and safety of all participants in PSL 2022. However, the decision to include the crowd is put on hold and will be made after seeking guidance from Government of Pakistan and clearance from Health officials.
It is made clear in the Schedule, that all the side will play equal matches on day and evening times. The double Headers will happen on weekends as usual.
