Just In! Rajashtan Royals have announced Kumara Sangakara as their Director of Cricket ahead of IPL 2021. Former Sri Lankan Captain will be watching coaching structure, auction plans and team strategy and Talent discovery for RR in the 14th season of Indian Premier League. The official Twitter handle of Rajasthan Royals broke this news on the internet.
Speaking to the Press and Media Sangakara Said:
To oversee the cricket strategy of a franchise in the leading cricket competition in the world, as well as building the development programs and cricketing infrastructure that will provide the future foundation of the IPL team’s on-field success.
Sangakara retired from International Cricket after scoring 28,000 runs in all formats of Cricket for Sri Lanka. He is an inspiration to the thousands of Cricket fans all around the globe.
Apart from it, Rajasthan Royals also announced Sanju Samson as their new Captain in IPL 2021, replacing Steve Smith who have been released by RR ahead of IPL 2021 Auction.
After being appointed as the new Captain of Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Said:
“It’s great to have an all-time wicketkeeping great with us, he is someone who’s donned many hats, he was a fantastic keeper-batsman. He’s someone who’s shown great character both on and off the field and the values that one associates with him are the same which we embody here at Rajasthan Royals.
IPL 2021 is just three months away from now. The 14th season of Indian Premier League will be held between April and may 2021 in either India or UAE. All the Franchise teams are making the final arrangements for the IPL 6. In this regard, RR pick up Kumara Sangakara as their Director of Cricket.
